Registered Provisional Psychologist
I’m Brianna Friesen, a Registered Provisional Psychologist serving Edmonton and the surrounding areas. I hold a BA in Psychology from the University of Ottawa and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I have been offering therapy services since 2024 and have prior experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and in schools, assisting with behavioural therapy.
Although I love working with clients of all ages, I’ve been working or volunteering with children and youth in some capacity since I was 11, and am passionate about supporting young people, or those who were hurt as children. I believe that in healing from the past, we can find unique strength and resilience for the present and the future.
My Therapeutic Approach
My approach to therapy is client-centred and integrative, meaning that I use a variety of different modalities and techniques to fit the therapy to you, not the other way around. I draw from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Psychodynamic, and Narrative therapies, and add in somatic and mindfulness elements. I also have training in the Integrative Trauma and Attachment Treatment Model for trauma processing.
The most important thing for you to know is that I will meet you where you are at and create a safe and warm place for you to explore the past, present, and what you want for your future.

Areas of Focus and Expertise
I work with a variety of ages and populations, and with a broad spectrum of mental, emotional, and behavioural concerns. These include trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, emotional regulation, attachment, ADHD and neurodiversity, cross-cultural challenges, and spirituality. I am passionate about working with complex and relational trauma and the ways that it impacts a person’s life and mental wellbeing.
Why Choose to Work with Me
I have deep respect for the difficulty of starting and continuing on your mental health journey and offer a compassionate and safe environment that prioritizes your needs. You are the expert when it comes to your own life and my role is to walk alongside you, using my expertise and experience to offer new perspectives, help make connections, bring your strengths into the light, and point out important things that may be hiding under the surface.
Your experiences and outlook are unique to you, and therapy should match that. I believe that it is important to respect all of who you are, and truly care about what makes you you, including your culture, background, family, environment, and how you experience and integrate each of these aspects into your identity.
How to Get Started

If you think that I might be a good fit for what you are looking for, I would love for you to book a free 15-minute phone consultation with me to explore this further and see how we might work together. I would be honoured to be a part of your mental health journey and can’t wait to meet you!
