Counselling Therapist Intern
I’m Megan Uchacz, a Counselling Therapist Intern in Edmonton at One Tree Psychological and Therapeutic Services. Above all, I believe a deep connection and genuine empathy are at the heart of meaningful therapy. My style is warm, collaborative and rooted in your strengths.
I’m currently completing my Master’s in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I also bring with me a background in Child and Youth Care and several years of experience supporting young people and families in school settings. That experience continues to shape how I show up in this work, with openness, care, and respect for each person’s unique story.
My Therapeutic Approach
I use a person-centred and humanistic approach to the therapeutic process, I see you as the expert of your own life. I’m here to walk alongside you, helping you explore your strengths, your challenges, and everything in between. I work from a strengths-based and emotion-focused perspective, helping you uncover what you already do well and what you want to build. I value collaboration: together we’ll find what feels right for you. Therefore you’ll find a safe, inclusive space where your voice matters.
Services I Offer
Areas of Focus and Expertise
Most of my experience has been with children and youth and has expanded to working with adults and families as well. I’m especially passionate about supporting folks in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. I work with individuals aged 10 and up in areas like anxiety, depression, self-confidence, relationships, stress, and self-harm.
Why Choose to Work with Me?
If you are looking for a therapist who honours your experience, values your voice and works alongside you, then I could be a great fit. My goal is always to offer a non-judgmental, empathetic space where you feel seen, supported and empowered to grow.
Learning is something I really value, it’s a constant in my life. I’m always learning from the people I work with, and that helps me grow both personally and professionally. I’m truly excited to be here with you, to support your healing, and to help you navigate whatever it is you’re carrying.
