Registered Provisional Psychologist
My name is Melanie Naguib, I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist in Edmonton. Currently, I hold a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Alberta and Master of Counselling Psychology at City University. Above all, I believe that everyone has the capacity to heal and grow, and my role is to help you build on the strengths you already have and make meaningful change.
I love to absorb new information from as many sources as I can and am a continuous learner of new knowledge. Travelling is a passion of mine and I love to see as many countries as I can to learn from as many cultures as I can. Because of this, I have a better understanding of how to help you.
My Therapeutic Approach
In our work together, I bring a person-centred and humanistic style, tailoring the process to your unique needs, pace and experience. I also integrate cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, emotion-focused therapy (EFT), and mindfulness practices. Additionally, I am trained in play therapy and EMDR. Whether you’re a child, youth or adult, I adapt the approach so we can work in a way that feels meaningful and effective for you.
Services I Offer
Areas of Focus and Expertise
Since 2017, I’ve supported children, youth, adults and families of many cultural backgrounds through emotional, social and behavioural challenges. Overall, this experience shapes how I build connection, trust and safety in therapy. I use integrative therapeutic methods and offer culturally informed therapy that honours diversity of experience.
I support clients experiencing anxiety, stress, challenges with emotional regulation, behavioural concerns life transitions, self esteem, grief and trauma. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, capable and confident as you navigate your daily life.
Why Choose to Work with Me?
I believe healing is not “one-size-fits-all.” Your culture, identity, family, community and life story shape your experience. I honour all of these parts of you.
I often share the idea that calm is like floating in the ocean—steady, supportive and peaceful. Therapy can help you reconnect with that sense of calm, even when life feels overwhelming.
